[ltr]This study was conducted on a sample of Local Extension leaders in El-Qalubia governorate, which was 215 local leaders, to determine the degree of participation of the local extension in activities of extension methods which were used in extension work , and to identify some motives of the local leaders respondents who participated in activities of extension methods of local leaders in related to each of the extension agents, local leaders and farmers . Also, determining the relationship between personal variables and degree of local leaders participation in activities of extension methods used in extension work . [/ltr]
[ltr]Table presentation, percentages, the arithmetic mean, Simple correlation coefficient and X2 chi-square were used to analyze the data. [/ltr]
[ltr]Findings were as follows :Participation degree of local leaders respondents in extension activities which to extension methods used in the extension work, is arranged in descending order as follows:[/ltr]
[ltr]The activities of : extension field, the extension assemblies, the practical demonstration, the extension meetings, the extension publications and field visits .[/ltr]
[ltr]The results showed also that participation motives in extension methods activities motivate leaders to participate in extension methods activities used in the extension work. There were factors affecting: local leaders participation in agricultural methods activities which used in extension work. These factors related to extension agents first and followed with local leads and farmers agents, Moreover the results indicated that there was significant a correlation relationship between the personal variables of local leaders and their participation degree in the extension methods activities used in the extension work, except for variable of participation in social organizations and marital status variable. In addition, the results indicated that there were obstacles that limited participation of local leaders in extension work, notably fragmentation of farmers’ agricultural holdings which inhibit the implementation of extension recommendations, the weakness of budget of extension work, part–time local leaders to do extension work, The interest in modifying the central agricultural extension system instead of the local and the village, one the weakness of cultural level of the farmer and the shortage in the multi-use of extension methods and different extension aids .[/ltr]
[ltr]Some recommendation were deducted from these results which lead to increase participation in extension methods activities used in the extension work, which lead also to increase effectiveness of agricultural extension .[/ltr]
